Classical guitar bridges
Good day, I am building a classical with bridge plate. Does anyone know if I put together Mr. Gore’s bridge design outlined in the Build book edition that specs laminated carbon fiber and just use solid quarter sawn instead if it’s footprint is large enough? It is approximately 20mm shorter than traditional designs. Thanks, Bruce
Re: Classical guitar bridges
Trevor's bridges incorporate CF in order to add strength and keep bridge mass down. The more mass..the heavy the top and the more string energy required to drive same. Using Trevor's wood/CF sandwich construction you can use less dense woods like walnut and end up with a bridge that is super light but strong.BruceSmith wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 1:41 amGood day, I am building a classical with bridge plate. Thanks Martin, Would you know what thickness carbon fiber sheet is recommended for laminating?
