Lapacho L00

I finally got around to making a set of Gibson L00 moulds during Covid lockdown and had a B&S set of Lapacho that I was intrigued to try out. It was a bit of an experiment as there's not much info out there, except it's particularly hard & believe me, that's an understatement! Sonically however, the finished instrument has exceeded anything I could have hoped for. It was finished late 2021 & seemed to fuss a bit for a while, squeezing minute glue lines out of joints that I would have considered perfect etc, but it settled down & now is very stable.

Neck – Flame Canadian Maple
Fretboard & Bridge – Australian Acacia
Rosette & headstock overlay – Burl Canadian Maple
Binding – Redheart (Chakte Kok)
Oil finish
