ES 330 style fully hollow

Just started this one to see me through a quiet patch, laminated back and sides in Blackwood with solid linings, carves top in Celerytop pine, neck in Birdseye maple and Bubinga fretboard, it's a 17 fret instead of 19 like the 335's
I'll pos a few more pics later.

I like those, did a 335 neck through with leopardwood side top wings and back. The 335 is perfect for the Neckthru detail. Are you hanging mag pups? I have a bunch sides hanging I bent few years ago. Your build is making me want to laminate some of those sides, build a neck and buy some top and back wood!! Haha

Hi Rod,

That's a pretty robust looking build for a 335.

As I'm sure you already know- the Gretsch Streamliner (current semi) and Gibson ES 175 don't use the transverse brace up near the neck HB cavity.

But Jim English swears by it in his book to avoid a potential buckle.

Did you carve the back as well?

As I've posted here before-my ES175 build has top and back laminated plates from Finland-the only laminated options I could find

It has just two longituidal braces running just outsice the pickup cavities and no bridge support as per the original Gibson spec.

We'll see how it goes- hopefully arched laminate has long term stability
