Hybrid X bracing

Post by GarciaGuitarsOz » Mon Sep 20, 2021 2:54 pm

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my finished Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle OM, in gratitude of the help I received.

Early in 2020 I sought advice on using a hybrid lattice brace for an OM acoustic I was building at the time.
Wayne Mcphee was incredibly helpful in sharing his bracing layout which I used, as was Trent Palelei from Brisbane guitar making school who's also a member here.

Specs on the guitar are as follows

Top: Old growth Master grade Sitka Spruce
Back and sides: Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle
Neck:The 7 piece bolt on neck in Qld walnut with thinner laminations of Qld maple and crows ash to create the striping
Body join 12th fret
Scale length 25.34"
K & K pure mini passive pickup
and Gotoh 510 tuners

Hope you enjoy the photos and I will try to post a video

Great photos of the guitar build. I like all of the guitar features that fit together with the back and sides in Tiger Myrtle.

Beautiful guitar Remi. Wayne has given me the link to your sound demo and the guitar sounds wonderful.
Very well played I may add.
Cheers
