Server Maintenance
Re: Server Maintenance
hy,
not sure it's a problem on my side or yours
but I cant find anything from anzlf on google
im in austria so it might be a google thing, but I never had that issue before
apart from that it looks much better than before, and way better than the first skin you tried lately
thanks!

Type in "ANZLF luthier" and the forum main page should come up on Google.aljosha wrote:hy,

Re: Server Maintenance
neither, it's like the forum doesn't exist...
not even when I search for a specific thread...
no clue why...
but it worked up until 2 days ago for sure...
so I think its related to the update

Re: Server Maintenance
I noticed that when I mark a forum read, the Board Index page indicates that there are still unread posts. (Red Icon).

Hi Allen,Allen wrote:I noticed that when I mark a forum read, the Board Index page indicates that there are still unread posts. (Red Icon).
I noticed that too, until I then noticed that the thread went for more than 1 page! If I click on the last page, it seems to work OK for me.
Thanks,
GregL.

Must be that the ANZLF is now censored in Austria. Move to Switzerland.kiwigeo wrote:Type in "ANZLF luthier" and the forum main page should come up on Google.aljosha wrote:hy,

Re: Server Maintenance
Right I've been meaning to this for a while.
Bob please set up a mechanism, PayPal or whatever, for us grateful users to give you a bit of cash towards what you have spent on our forum. It is really not right that it should come out of your own pocket.
I suspect many of us would like to contribute - it doesn't need to be much if enough of us do it.
Please set it up Dave M

Re: Server Maintenance
Thanks for the support guys. I will put up a Paypal button soon.
The forum is still running on my personal PC at home while I've been waiting for server parts to arrive, the last of which (a Xeon CPU) I got my hands on yesterday.
So I have to install that and migrate or rebuild the forum to the new server. I'll whack a Paypal donation button in after I do the migration
So far it's cost about $1200 so any contributions would be welcome.
I hope you like the new theme. I believe you can change it back to the old one in your profile somewhere if you don't like the new one. If someone wants to test it and let me know I'd appreciate it. I can always install a few more themes so you can personalise the look of the forum to something you like.
Regards

Yeah, probably showing me age but I can't get my head around this virtual stuff, how can something virtual have any 'real' value?kiwigeo wrote:If you can't slap it over the counter for a pint of Guinness then Bob's not interestedJeremy D wrote:Bitcoin!

Nice work Bob - working nicely - "My Board style" in Board Preferences\Global Settings...Bob Connor wrote:I hope you like the new theme. Re: Server Maintenance
You may have noticed that that the forum has been up and down like a brides nighty the last week or so.
iinet are coming around to fix it tomorrow.
They have told me it'll be sometime between 8am and 4pm and that I have to be at home when they arrive.
They got the standard reply. F%^& off.
It's a filter that sits in a box under the eaves that needs replacing and they don't need me here to fix it.
So hopefully it'll be more stable after tomorrow.

Yes and iinet bought up internode which was a step above them. Look forward to consistently average connections in Australia now that we have anther duopoly to contend with. Won't be long before coles or wollies owns tpg I recon .

I dont think Woolies will be making a play for TPG...they first have to get rid of the Masters millstone from around their neck.Jeremy D wrote:Yes and iinet bought up internode which was a step above them.
