Tasmanian Blackwood Lapsteel
Hello all, I hope you don't mind me adding another set of lapsteel pics. The owner of this one asked if I had shared it and what people thought and I thought I had shared this but I have realised I only put it on my facebook page so here it is. Solid tasmanian blackwood with a chambered body, flamed blackwood top with ivoroid binding. Ebony fretboard with notched diamond inlays and ivoroid binding. Headstock inlay was a bit of a surprise for the owner, he had done some drawings of tribal motifs that he showed me and mentioned that he liked marlin. I really liked his designs so unbeknownst (is that a real word) to him I used his drawings and added the marlin. I was only just getting into engraving inlays and I think it turned out very well considering theyre approximately 10mm in total length. Guitar is fitted with 2 stacked P90s, great tonal variation between the two. I was very pleased with the final result, hope others like it as well.

Hey Mark,
I can't say I have ever been a fan of the "Lap Steel" genre, but your efforts here are superb!! What a gorgeous piece of work!! If it sounds half as good as it looks it is a masterpiece! Well done sir.
