Yep, well said John. I am not a betting man but this sale has a small risk but what the hell!
She left the US today super well packed was how the seller described the package.
I am very excited about seeing this piece of history.
Cheers

How's your drafting Alan? I don't think there'd be any complaints if you did up a set of plans.

I will document the restore well so a set of plans will be available to all you members when I get to it. I think my drafting skills will be good enough.

Re: BRW back and side set with bonus Mahogany neck?
I have just had an offer by a fellow forum member to turn my tracings and measurements of the Lyon & Healy parlour into a file using CAD. So we now have a plan for a plan and I plan to share it with all the members here

That was crummy, Stale Joke Nick, and the truth was that Lyon & Healy sacked him for loafing
Sorry for That

Re: BRW back and side set with bonus Mahogany neck?
The Lyon & Healy Parlour guitar turned up today and I'm stoked! I am not usually a lucky man but I have to say someone has been looking after me! The cardboard carton had no stickers on it to say this has been opened and inspected by Australian Customs. The old guitar is a beauty and is in better condition than what I thought judging by the eBay photos. It has big damage to the top and unfortunately the purfling and binding has been damaged badly in a few places. Some cracks on the butt, back and sides but nothing outrageous. Looks like she has had a fall on the butt and some stage. The neck needs to be reset but it is crack free and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is also crack free. The Brazilian Rosewood is not quite cut on the quarter but it looks good. Very dark and the smell is beautiful and sweet. She is a 24/1/4" scale with a chunky neck profile and no truss rod. Frets look good and will dress up fine and the machine heads work so it is going to be a fun project.
I will organise some pics shortly.
Cheers

Thanks Kim.
Jim your a legend and I thank you very much for the heads up.
The seller forgot to ship the bridge and bridge pins with the guitar. I hope he can find these items as the bridge is essential for the restore.
Cheers

Re: BRW back and side set with bonus Mahogany neck?
Fellow forum member Steve offered a few weeks back to convert my rough measurements to a CAD produced plan. I have made a ply template of the back, headstock, fingerboard and have plotted out the side profile. Along with a few other measurements the rough plan was converted to a file today and it is now in Steve's hands. To get more accurate measurements I will wait now till the top and neck is removed. Then I can plot the bracing and all other relevant info required to build one of these little fellas.
Thanks again to Steve for the offer to put the time into this plan.

Great team work Alan and Steve the end result will be an excellent resource for any of us looking to accurately replicate such a schweet lit'le parlour.
Alan I don't know how many times I've been let down in the past by a dreaded red X when people at forums have hosted images on a topic @ a 3rd party location such as Photo-Bouquet or some other image hosting site. The problem is that if the OP ever moves on to different pursuits, drops dead, is arrested for loitering and stops using their account, after a while, their images get purged by the host and they're gone4ever.
If it is at all possible I reckon that everyone at the ANZLF today, and any that may follow tomorrow, would greatly appreciate it if you could make all images of your reconstruct post 'native' to the ANZLF by uploading to this forum. That way they will continue fulfil your original intent by displaying in topic 'regardless' of what happens to you, or photo-bouquet, down the track.
Cheers

Ok Kim that is a fine by me I understand the issues that could arise.
Photobucket has changed its format again and I couldn't figure out how to post pictures and I was just being lazy posting the link to my account there.
I will use the forum upload from now on when I figure out how to use it
Cheers

The first part is for the old forum software but if you scroll down the new "modern" way of doing it, is there.
