Mottola /Grellier
Mottola /Grellier
Has anyone built something based on either the Mottola or Grellier plans that are free on the web ?

Re: Mottola /Grellier
My first soprano uke was built using the Grellier plans. They are about the best representation of a Martin Soprano that there are available.

Re: Mottola /Grellier
I haven't used them but I helped one of the members here to build a Mottola braced (A frame style) all Sapele guitar which sounded quite nice. Bracing was strong enough for a steel string and quite useful if you plan on a soundhole up in the upper bout area.

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

I've used the L-00 plans about 7-8 times and used the Martin size 0 plans twice. All came out very, very nice.
Build on!
Have fun!

I have built 3 Mottola Opomoea and 3 L-OO guitars from these plans.
John Maddison had them printed full size at the local office printing supply shop.
Good plans and well drawn.
Go for them.
Cheers Maurie

+1 for the Grellier L-00 plan. It works.
