Frequency Meter Software with adjustable freq. range

Hi,

Does anyone know of a good Frequency Meter Software (free/trial) with adjustable freq. range? I have been using VA but on the high strings i can not get the fretted freqnecy.

I just tried VA and it worked fine for me, both SS and classical guitars. If you're after the fundamental, make sure you pluck in the middle of the active string length. If you're having problems with triggering on the right peak, you may be able to set-up a set of filters (Settings, Filters tab) to force the triggering into the right range.

Alternatives:

G-Tune, not free and I'm not sure if it's still available in it's original form. Maybe check here: http://www.jhc-software.com/gtune.shtml Easy to set-up which frequency range the peak to trigger on is in.

G-tune has an easily adjustable frequency trigger range (but not much help if not currently available)
PitchPerfect doesn't seem to have adjustable range/triggering
The sound colour analyser has an adjustable range, but it's accessible via a .ini file, so it's hardly handy.

Most of the guitar tuners seem to trigger on the tallest peak (hence the advice to to pluck at the centre, which tends to ensure that the tallest is the fundamental). Some may trigger on the lowest frequency peak, which I think is what you want and the "sound colour analyser" actually seems to do that and it's free.

Probably a bunch of phone apps out there too.

Thanks for the info guys. I had a look at the G-Tune website link & found a spot where you can still download the software (v 2.50). http://www.jhc-software.com/downloads.shtml I found that I had trouble installing it on my Windows 7 laptop, but it worked ok on my old computer (I think that this was because I didn't have Win Zip to let the set-up programme extract files, rather than the OS).
