Another nice wood from behind my yard

Hi Folks,
Here is another one of those wood that most people discard.... if you can guess.
I'm using it for the Top ,Back & Sides , The bracings are agathis wood.

Sounds bloody good through my laptop speakers Jeffery, no need for laughter here! Mango is new & up & coming wood on the scene. Bob Cef stocks the stuff so it can't be that junky!

Thats 20 minutes of my life put to very good use - just watched a few vids of your guitars on you tube, they sound fantastic, even through my crappy PC speakers, so they are probably even more amazing in the flesh. What I really like about your guitars is the bold and completely individual looks and great looking woods you use. Just stunning. Hope to see a few in person one day if I am ever in KL.

I dont know how many people on the forum have seen a really big mango tree, but its an awesome sight. They obviously dont just make good smoothies, they make good guitars too.

I thing I like the little sourish sound of the mango guitar, maybe it isn't fully ripe yet.
Hope to make a 'rambutan' and 'durian' guitar someday.

Mango is actually quite a common wood for ukuleles. Has been for many years. It's amazing how varied the figure can be as well. There are some absolutely enormous mango trees around Cairns. And much of it's free to anyone willing to haul it away when the mood strikes to take the tree out and put in a swimming pool....or another cyclone comes along.

Thanks guys! yes, those are brass pins that we made, well calibrated and polished. I can't afford gold pins
Agathis is a very good wood, I still have some, very nice golden silky grain figures.

I Guess if you did not like the "sourish" sound of the under ripe mango then you could always add a little soy Jeffrey.

A Rambutan guitar would be sweet but Durian even with your skill would surely stink
