The vice arrive today. Checked it out and all looks good. This is going to be an excellent tool for the workshop and very timely as I have a weissenborn to apply a shellac finish to.

Thanks again Allen for the headsup on this little gem!

Cheers

A HUGE thanks to Allen for finding the 'Pattern Makers Vice'. Mine arrived today, at $123.99 US, including freight.
I've been looking at them for years and the price and even more so, the freight, has stopped me buying one.
This vice purchase was a great, great buy.

Thanks Allen for being so alert and telling us all about it.

And mine finally showed up today as well. Haven't even had a chance to open up the box as I was at meetings until 5:30 tonight, and I'm to buggered to even want to go out and open the box.

Mine arrived today, thanks Al 8)

The carton had two freight payment stickers on it. The first was for $50.00, the next placed to the side of that, with only a feather edge of the paper laid over the original was for $94.75. The shipping instructions on the label had my address and email address and had been originally marked "Ship Via Express Mail". The word "Express" had then been scored through with brown marker pen, this explains why it took a little longer than expedited, but with the bottom line being that those of us who jumped in when we did scored a pattern makers vice for the purchase price of just $30.....I no complain. :D

Must say full marks to Woodworker.com. It is now obvious that they must have had an e-commerce glitch which seen their checkout quoting express post cost @ just $50 for with in the USA delivery for an international AU delivery. They probably could have, but chose not to walk away from this stuff up. Instead they took it quietly on the chin by paying the extra $45.00 freight themselves to see each transaction fulfilled as agreed at point of sale. Obviously they also needed to down grade the delivery service and crossed out the 'express' because at around $250 and item, that would have hurt just too much, but hats off to them, this is the kind of service commitment you are hard pushed to find anywhere in Australia, so I will not hesitate to shop with them again.

Well Done Woodworker.com :cl :cl :cl :cl :cl

Cheers

Hi Allen,
all the components arrived for my vise,
the vise , base & attaching screw. . .
seems unfair you alerted us all to this product then only part of your order arrives,
give em' a gee-up.

Thanks for the picture Wayne. Definately mine didn't come as complete as yours. I've contacted them to inform them my package was short.

Bugger Allen...sorry to here you got the raw end, I have been running around my shed drilling 5/8" holes all over. Done a bit of fettling on mine and its a great vice. Some folks may not be aware that the big washer goes under the bench. How it come packed in the base like that, it fits so neatly it looks like it is meant to go there, its not because it does nothing. Placed under the bench it gives a good solid footing for the big wing nut.......I wont say a thing more Allen
