Apologies folks for not getting you a daily update of my International ukulele build course in Finland. We took some video at the end of the finished (no pun intended) instruments and I am hoping my man in Finland will soon process that and when he does, I'll get it up here.
Great time, thoroughly exhausting - evening were spent at a lodge with sauna and bar b qued salmon, plenty of micro brewed beer, swimming in the lake and fishing.
9 students all produced killer sounding ukes to a fairly high standard though neck alignment on the sopranos required myself and my Finnish colleague to conduct a gruelling late session correcting problems.
We are already planning next years.
EDIT:
One of the attendees has posted a journal here It's a pretty good record of some of the main aspects of the build. Note the cookl go bar solution - not my idea but a Ken Timms special.

A thoroughly enjoyable slideshow, Peter ... some interesting looking uke tools & jigs you have there, and yes - the go-bar deck is ingenious & unique!Pete Howlett wrote:

Not all that unusual over that way John. That is a factory built "IKEA GO-DECK BAR STOOL".Pretty common and probably in the catalogue somewhere.
There always seem to be SMILEY faces at the end of a uke school.Congrats Pete.

Sure looks like fun Pete.
I had a bit of a trawl through the photos on the journal. Perhaps something was lost in translation - or are the Finns' not that keen on ukes?
