Quick and easy six string lap steel

Post by Nick » Fri Mar 06, 2015 6:46 am

A quick and easy lap steel using the ubiquitous American "too baa fourrr" and a few other parts most of us would have in our spare parts drawers.

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Just noticed a bit of a cock up in the destruction's. It says to drill a 5/8" hole for the tuners! For any newbies doing this build...DON'T! I suspect it was meant to read 3/8" or better still, measure your bushings first and drill an appropriately sized hole.

I suspect it was transcribed via an interpreter and got a little lost in translation. Be even worse if it was one of the good ole boys from up in them thar mountins. At least Texan resembles English.

I'm out at work at present. Yesterday I had a good ol' boy from Mississippi ask me what part of Louisiana I was from. To his credit he did know where Christchurch was.
