Hello forum members,
I’m a newbie to NZ from Canada and quite intrigued to learn about Aussie/Kiwi native woods used in acoustic guitar building. How refreshing it is to learn there is more to life south of the equator than Rosewood, Mahogany, and Maple.
I had the good fortune to meet Paddy Burgin and Peter Madill at the Wellington Hand Made Guitar Show in early March and played a few of their beautiful instruments. Have since learned of Laurie Williams and JH Guitars and have now found this cool forum. I’m not a builder but very much appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that goes into making acoustic instruments and I look forward to learning much through this forum.
Cheers,
Michael
Greetings, eh!

Have you found Alistair's Music Shop yet?
Re: Greetings, eh!
Is that the place down Cuba Street? I popped in there a few years ago when I was doing a building course run by Paddy Burgin and Dave Freeman.
