If only all councils would donate their noxious weed removal to guitar builders (well, only the big ones of course) we would have more guitars like this. I know it's the equivalent of denim on denim but I just love timber. Camphor Laurel body, Blackwood pickguard, rock maple one pice neck. I think I still l Great making acoustics more but everyone needs a "Strat".

Looks nice, great work.
I've used Camphor a few times, it's good to work with but it sure has a distinct aroma!

This is a beautiful guitar, I couldn't agree more. I cringe every time I see the council teams turning beautiful timber into wood chips.

Sure loosens up the old sinuses no end when you're milling it.

Re: Turning weeds into guitars
Nice theme. I have been working on a couple of electrics (telealike) lately with Australian made in mind so both are Aussie grown woods but one is Darwin garden weed variety of wood. The neck is a local Acacia Ariculaformis often described as a suburban weed cause it pops up everywhere. The body is Gmelina Arborea which is a Asian one that used to be planted quite a bit in Darwin but now most have been removed and do not get replaced because people see them as a bit messy for gardens.
Life is good when you are amongst the wood.
