Mango Tenor

Post by Jim » Wed May 31, 2017 8:26 am

Just finished this tenor ukulele.
Mango body
5 piece Silky, Vic ash and mystery wood I had lying around neck
Casurina fretboard
Casurina and Macassar ebony bridge

Pretty happy with the sound, it's only been strung up a day though so we'll see how it settles in.

Nice looking build Jim

Did you keep the mango on the thick side?
Did it seem a little soft?Would mango work on a flat top guitar?

Thanks Jonny,
No, I kept it to my usual thickness but changed the bracing as it wasn't as stiff as the bunya I usually use. Apparently it does make a really nice guitar too. I'm really happy with the sound- I'd definitely use it again for uke.

Cheers

Jim
