I finish this one about a month ago, Blackwood top with sunburst spray. I also was trying a new neck joint/heel.

That sure looks nice Luke. I like the satin look with the burst too!

Very tasteful Luke. I've got a stack of rather bland Blackwood that I think will benefit from a sunburst treatment like that.
What's the deal with the new neck design? Tell us more.

The new joint is basically a glued butt joint.
With the new neck joint I was trying to resolve some things I didn’t like about my old method.
My old joint had a large head block and I routed a cavity like an electric guitar, then I glued it in place. I was concerned about the size of the block and that it was reducing the active area of the sound board. The new head block is a slightly wider than the neck and only 12mm thick. The fretboard is floating over the body.
The top of the body where the neck joins is very curved which made fitting the neck to the body with a neat joint very time consuming. The new joint sits into a cavity 6mm deep with flat bottom making it easier and quicker to fit. Also cutting the pitch angle to the heel face is straightforward because it is also flat.

Very nice indeed!
I like how the colours of the top an the head plate match.

Looks good Luke. Couldn't quite follow your neck build description. (probably just my lack of technical vision).
Do you have a pic.
cheers

I think the heel sits in a cavity in the neck block.
Luke, if I'm wrong could you please take the uke apart to show us how your neck joint works?
