Another Selmer finished, this is number 6. I have an oval hole about 50% finished and I have a left handed d hole started.
This one is Blackwood b/s from Tim.
Australia red cedar top

Thanks Al.

Great aesthetic. Am interested in the bridge. Do you not use a removable saddle? Is the bridge material itself tough enough to carry the strings?

And don't I seem to remember that selmac used a form of ladder bracing? I wonder what you are using?
Didn't they use a crease to give a good break angle?
As someone has said that back looks gorgeous.

Thanks Dave.
The bridge is just designed this way. As long as you use a decent timber then the saddle section is fine. This one is Blackwood, I normally use EIRW which is great.
The top has a crease ( pliage) just behind the bridge, it makes the top a lot stronger, so then it can be thinned more than a normal flat top. This top is about 2.1mm thick approx.
I have 4 ladder braces across the top, but from the last brace to the tail block I use lattice bracing reinforced with carbon fibre. The oval hole gypsy guitars have 5 ladder braces but a lot of builders leave the 5th brace off. I'll post a photo if you like. Wayne

Another great guitar builds. Blackwood looks great!.
Does the guitar sound better only using two pickups sensor disks or would three sensor disks be better.

Re: Selmer d hole
No problem Dave. Yeah they really are a different animal. They're also a real challenge, I'm starting to get the hang of them now but I can tell you the first one did my head in and took me 12months to build, I had to walk away from it for about 3 months so I could get motivated to finish it.
Thanks Wayne. I use the twin spot from K&K and they're really good and give a natural tone. 3 transducers could work fine but I've never used them and I like to stick with what I know.
