Guitar No.2

Post by asgilbert » Wed Jan 15, 2020 5:51 pm

All,
My second guitar, the first was from a Blues Creek Guitar kit. This is from scratch using Grellier plans. Had a lot of help from my friends down in Albany... Many thanks Pete and Maurice could not have done it without your help.
Top is European Spruce, B&S Black Limba, Rosewood Bridge and FB. Mirortone 6130 full Gloss #@&*^@#
Stuffed up by not taking enough of the center join on the top... so ended up with a line. Many many things I could do better. But happy with how the guitar plays and sounds.
First time for inlay and first installation of K&K pickup that sound great.

Very tidy. I like the look and the grellier shape. Nice back and sides. Congrats on a fine guitar.

Looks great! That cutaway looks like a serious bend, well done :cl It also looks like you don’t have a taper or radius on the back. I don’t know anything about Grellier, do they make ‘em flat?

Thanks, Yep a serious bend alright - Thanks to Maurice in Albany who bent all of that!! Lesson learnt, thin the material in that area down some and I've changed the shape to get rid of the "s".
Sorry about the photo, it shows neither the top nor back radius. Top is 30' and the back 15'
