Hot glue from the Hot Glue gun

Post by Connor_the_builder » Sat Jan 24, 2009 7:42 am

Heh Heh Heh

After some hot glue was left over from a project in woodwork class, I was making fingerprints in it because there was nothing to do. Then I ran out of glue, so I squeezed myself some new glue from the gun and dipped my thumb right into it forgetting all about the hot and thinking only of the fingerprint. Yowch!

Thats as bad as running your finger over the blade of a freshly sharpened chisel to check if its sharp.

Of course this is something I would NEVER do

Lucky it was just your finger that got dipped in the hot glue

I worked in a small furniture factory in my youth and one of my jobs was spraying lacquer. One day, the gun kept plugging up and the foreman said "let me take a look at it". He loaded the gun with lacquer thinner, looked right at the nozzle and pulled the trigger. On the way to the hospital, he told me he had never seen as clearly in his life. Not funny at the time, but he recovered fine and I've told the story many times since.

First year at uni - one of the guys I was sharing with admitted he had no idea how to cook boiled potatoes (!) and asked for help. I didn't really believe him when the pan of water started to bubble away and he asked "how do you tell if it's boiling"? - Without thinking I joked - "Stick your hand in it"

………. he didn't ask me for cooking advice after that…….
