1/4 sawn Brazilian Mahogany

Post by Allen » Mon Feb 02, 2015 2:24 pm

It's not often you get a chance to lay your hands on some old Brazilian Mahogany, let alone both planks being dead on the 1/4.

The second photo is from the narrow plank. It was pretty easy to figure out how to get the most yield out of it. The wide one however took quite a bit of juggling my templates around and working out a matching number of tops, backs and sides. By the time we were done, there wasn't enough waste to make a business card holder.

All sawn up into uke sets. And yes, it makes a lot of sets. Plenty to keep me going for several years now. 8)
