G H Hannabach, a German guitar maker (cousin of the Hannabach stings family) got mango and koa in Hawaii. So maybe Hawaii would still be a source for mango? I have seen it on eBay. I have a vague notion I saw it once at RC Tonewoods too.

Oh yeah Jeffrey that's what we're talking about, slice it up and bring it on. That's right Demon the Zootman has sold it before.

Hey Allan,

You don't really see it down here. Up north suppliers often have a bit laying around. But never in any real quantity.

From memory, I believe old Mango trees (that so often produce the figure and at times wild colour variation) are protected and can not be felled. Of course, that doesn't stop the storms bringing them down, so much of what is available comes from storm felled trees.

Stan at http://www.billinudgelwoodworks.com.au/ should have some, or you could try Lazarides in Brisbane. There would be more around too - just can't think where at present. Trouble is it is very variable so buying unseen may be a little risky.

Cheers,

Jeremy.
