Hi all,
I know that a lot of you do some form of black magic frequency response malarky on testing sound boards/boxes etc.
I'm don't fully understand it - but I have a concept!
I found this app for the iphone today - http://www.4pocketsaudio.com/product.php?p=11
I plugged my phone into my acoustic guitar amp, laid on its back, laid my soundboard on the top, sprinkled it with pepper and cranked it up to watch the patterns at different frequencies. And very pretty they were too!
I'm still none the wiser - but thought that some of you may find it useful.
Steve

Re: There's an app for everything.....
I find the problem with most apps for this sort of thing is that the control you have on the frequency sweep is either a silly digital adjuster that increments in Hz jumps, or a touch sensitive slider (as does that one you linked to) but which has no sensitivity setting.
Best one I have found is Tone Gen Pro, see pic attached, but even the virtual "knob" needs a sensitivity setting - it is just too hard to control the sweep of frequencies back and forth over a sensitive area. I'v asked them for this feature but no response ...
