OK folks,
As the total amount of this order is now quite substantial, I will be requiring a funds transfer form you guys to cover the cost of your purchase and your share of freight from the USA to get things on the way. Once I have that component of your cost worked out, I will send you a PM with the amount you need to pay along with my bank details for the transfer.
When you receive that PM with your preliminary total, please reply with confirmation your payment has been made, along with your mailing address. Once I receive the order from Steve, we can then do a minor top up for local shipping cost when they are known.
Cheers all
Kim

Folks,
I will be winding this up tomorrow and make the cut off point 12 midday WST, that is 12pm 17/01/08. Sometime between now and then I will post an order list. Drop back and check the list, if I have you down correctly, no responce is necessary, if I have stuffed your order in anyway, PM me or post so I can make alterations. After midday, I will submit the total to Steve.
When Steve has had a chance to pack the order and can send me a total cost with shipping, I will work out the per-unit shipping cost from the USA, tally that per-unit cost to each persons total purchase cost, and then I will start sending out initial totals for the funds transfer to take place. So, if you want in, let me know shortly and I will add you in for calculation.
I have weighed a 2AA Adi top from my stash that I got from Steve a while back, it came in at 608 grams. I grabbed 2 of his adi brace billets, they come in different length so I grabbed 2 that where middle of the road, together, the 2 x brace billets came in at 680 grams. My plan therefore is to call 1 adi top one unit, and 1 adi bracewood billet, one half of one unit, if you are unhappy with this arrangement, speak up now but only if you can offer something better otherwise, that what we go with.
One other thing, Steve has made mention of his special on Ox bone bridge pins sets, so check his thread if interested. If you did want a set or 2, because they weigh bugger all, I am sure no-one would gripe if they came along with the tops freight free from the USA. They would not really alter the cost to those who are already buying red spruce however to keep things fair, if a lot of people did happen to buy pins and the weight did become significant enough to consider, I would then simply ask Steve to weigh a set and calculate shipping at 1 half unit, or part there of, per 340 grams and divide that cost across the total bridge pin order.
Once again, cut off point will be 12pm tomorrow, however, if you don't mind paying full shipping from the USA, I am sure Steve will continue to offer these pins at the ANZLF price until the stock is gone, which should be just after his site opens in early February, the Red Spruce price ends tomorrow noon.
Cheers all

It certainly is and Kim must be thinking why the bloody hell did I stick my hand up for this one.kiwigeo wrote:Now THATS what I call a group buy!!!!
Thanks very much for putting this together Kim.
I'm certain your efforts and those of Allen for putting together the truss rod order are most appreciated by everyone here.

Well, everyone who placed an order should have received a PM from me with details and amounts required for the initial transfer.
If you did not get a PM with your amount clearly explained, have a problem with my maths, or you just don't understand how I have put the figures together, please let me know ASAP so we can tie this thing up.
Cheers all and thank you for your patience.
Hesh, I was pleased to hear from Steve that you guys have now sorted out your order between yourselves. ONYA!
Cheers

Received My Adi
My Adi tops and brace stock arrived today and I could not be more pleased. I have purchased tops of this quality and paid more then twice what we are paying here.
They are excellent tops, ring like a bell, well quartered, and very stiff too. The brace stock is also excellent.
For my southern hemisphere bros who have not built with Adi you are in for a real treat. Personally I think that Adi is the finest top wood on the planet and produces a guitar with great projection, strong fundamentals while still providing an abundance of overtones.
Cosmetically Adi has to measured against a different standard since Adi is very difficult to get. Grain lines per inch is not so important with Adi since it is so very stiff anyway and the coloration varies but I find that very attractive and consider it character.
An Adi top will take considerably longer to open up, in my experience perhaps twice the time but when it does it will sound superb.
Here are some pics of my stuff AND many thanks to Steve at Colonial and Kim for putting this group buy together.

Important Notice.
After waiting patiently for some of your payments to start coming in and still nothing as of Thursday evening, I decided to check the PM I sent out to you guys with my bank detail. Well before I sent it out I checked and double checked to make sure all was OK but some how I blew it.
All I can think is that I must have been reading what I thought should be there and not what was there because I have in fact left a digit out of the account number. What a balls up!
I am real sorry folks and disappointed as I had hoped to have things rounded up by this week end so we could get the order on the way. Anyhow rest easy as your money is safe. This will just cause a delay tis all. I thought I would PM you all with the correct details but as the forum is grinding down to a near halt for me ATM, that option is out of the question for a short while.
I will be calling my bank in the am: just in case they are able to let the payments through but I doubt it. I would say that shortly your funds will simply be re-credited back to your accounts. Once your funds have been returned to your account, could you please re-deposit them ASAP to the same account name, the same BSB and the same account number that I provided only this time add a "0" as a 7th digit between the 6 and the 5 making a nine digit number that reads: _ _ _ _ _605_ .
If you are having trouble understanding what I have just written or have deleted my original PM which gave you your cost and my details, please PM me and I will resend the original message edited with the correct account number.
Once again I am realy sorry for the stuff up and hope that you all don't think too badly of me. I am a little bemused as I realy did check all the details carefully but a stupid assumption has bought me undone.
Cheers

Just an update,
Most of you guys have now re-submitted and your funds have cleared into my account, thank you for you understanding and Borneo is wonderful this time of year . Just kidding
There never was any danger of the funds going astray to another recipient as there is no 8 digit acc # with my bank. I sent out PM's to those who have not re-submitted as yet yesterday so things should be tied up pretty soon. I will go through later today and send a confirmation PM to all who have paid.
Cheers

There's a great Irish pub in Kota Kinabalu up in Sabah.
Only pub I've ever been into that allows you to buy six jugs, just before the end of happy hour at happy hour prices, and leave them in the tap until you are ready to drink them.
Please send postcards at regular intervals and don't forget to take the malaria tablets.
