Kootenay Tonewoods

Has anyone had any dealings with Kootenay Tonewoods the website reads really well and I liked their criteria for grading Engelmann Spruce Soundboards .

The issue is I can’t get them to reply to my emails . I have used their site to contact them on at least five occasions without a reply .
I can’t understand this if they are a wholesaler only or my order is too small , a simple email reply explaining the situation would suffice .

Can anyone recommend a reliable supplier of high grade Engelmann Spruce Soundboards Please

Hi Peter,
I used to buy from Graham Hein (Kootenay Tonewoods), however my last order through him was about 3 yrs ago.

His product is great, seemed like a pretty good guy, however i did run into some difficulties (hence why i no longer buy from him, won't go into details here).

I think he supplies some of the big US and china factories, Im pretty sure he was wholesale only.
I was ordering 20 - 50x AAAA/mastergrade sets at a time and i believe this was a pretty small volume for him to deal with.

If you're after some good quality tops feel free to send me a message i may be able to supply you.

I've bought a lot of wood of Graham over the years. Most of my purchases were via his Ebay page which no longer seems to be operating. I found him great to deal with.

I have purchased a small quantity of tops recently - about 6 or so from Music Spruce Canada. They were easy to deal with when ordering.

They haven’t arrived yet - I picked the slowest shipping option known to man by accident. Completely my fault.

I am very keen for them to arrive. Can’t wait for The year 2034 to arrive.

May I offer and alternative.
One of the best attributes of engleman is it's light weight and density and tonal response.
Downfall, is it's fragile softness. dents and scratches easy.
What if you could get the tonal response of engleman, but in a board that has the toughness and hardness of sitka?
Our ultra-light sorts/variations in A-4A grades does just that.
There is a variation in the non-figured dreadnaught size guitar tops.grades A, AA, AAA and Master grade.
This sort has been gleaned from a 2-3 old growth logs that we salvaged in a couple timber sales. some float log and some a bridge stringer.
The 600 tops we have in this UL sort has been gleaned from over 60-70,000 guitar tops we have cut over the past several years.
One can use filters on our newly updated website/online store to get right to them.
