Building a flamenco guitar

Post by Trevor Gore » Mon Dec 21, 2020 8:58 pm

A customer of mine decided to go the next step and build his own guitar, with a little help and advice from yours truly. Then he went one step further and made a compilation of the pics and vids he shot as he was building, and left us with some of his thoughts on the experience, for which I would like to thank him!

I enjoyed the video explaining the the guitar building experience. The guitar timber choice and final produce3 looks great.

G’Day guys,

I’m the bloke that made the guitar with Trevor and made the video above. I’m known as”Tricky Fish” on some of the forums (DelCamp, Acoustic Guitar Forum, Jazz Guitar online, etc) and my youtube channel is “Bluegum Counterpoint”.

I will be making more guitars in future so i thought it best to join this forum.

Thanks for sharing the vid. Excellent work Trevor and Tricky. I have a few of Pete's sets from that tree, such amazing wood. I also spied an end wedge jig I might have to spend some time making too

Recording done in my living room with iPhone and Shure MV88:

Fantastic video, thanks for compiling and sharing.
What's the purpose of the treble bushings on the 12 hole bridge? I've got a Gilet flamenco with a 12-hole bridge, but no bushings.
