Go Bar rods

Post by Chopper » Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:16 am

After trying to obtain fibreglass go bar rods at a reasonable cost, I finally found a business who had the very thing and were great to deal with.
They are Kite Magic in Sydney, Michael Richards is the proprieter. He sells the rod in 1metre lengths and I was able to buy 10 lengths and 40 caps for $46 including postage. This yielded 20 500mm go bars of 5mm dia.
After using them this last week I dont know how I could have done without them for as long as I did.
Merry Christmas to everybody, I hope you all have a great New Year,
Cheers Chopper

Nice one Chopper!

FYI, if they fiberglass has typical stiffness properties, I calculate that the applied force at the rod tip should be about 12 lbs. With the tips in place, this should provide some great gluing pressure without damage to the wood surface.
