Re: asymmetrical body shape on ukuleles?
Allen, Thanks for your reply. I reckon it is quite interesting about the asymmetrical shape, because I never noticed about it before. I guess I am a traditional style lover, so spanish joint would be my choice. But your words is absolutely right, I will have to try each kind of neck connections then...

asymmetrical body shape on ukuleles?
Two questions to ask here before I proceed further: 1. I was tracing the body shape from existed instrument last night, and surprisingly found out that most of my ukuleles are asymmetrical built. Any reason the uke builders intend to do so? Should I use a symmetrical shape or just follow them to use...

Re: A new OOO cutaway
Thanks guys. Markus, the symbol on the heel is the Chinese symbol for Jade, which is the customer's daughter's name. Apparently the "underlined F" represents "the emperor" and the small dot is "the stone in the pocket of the emperor" - Jade Kim, I agree. It is quite like a honduran in drag  , ...

Alternative tools for Mac user are
WavePad FFT Sound Analyzer, or AudioXplorer which is not actively developed anymore but still good to use.

Newcomer says hi
Hi there, Guess that it is about time to introduce myself. I have been lurked around for a while but never said anything, because I haven't built any instrument. I have several ukuleles to strum and have fun with my kid together. We even have a ukulele lesson almost every night, I say 'almost' becau...

Re: Paul's Blackwood and Red Spruce Baritone Ukulele
Nicely done Allen, if you like Southcoast strings you should also try Ken's Living Water Strings.
It is similar with SC tonally, but I think LWS is more balanced in other areas.
