I am much obliged for the advice. I think I will go with standard guitar style bracing.
Kerry how does the small body handle the low C?

Mandocello plan/advice
Hi, I am planning to build a mandocello based on a standard size classical body shape with a scale length of around 25inch. I am unsure which bracing pattern to use that would serve me best in such a low register and I am unabe to find a plan anywhere. I have built an octave mandolin in an O size gu...

Advice on neck repair
Hi all,
wondering if I can get some advice. I have been asked to repair a banjo neck that was damaged on a flight. It looks pretty clean (haven't seen it up close). Are there any specific tips from the greater font of wisdom?
thanks

Parlor Cases
At the risk of being a little but "five minutes ago" I have recently taken possession of some nice parlor cases from TKL. There are two version 'flash' and 'not so flash' but both the same dimensions. I saw these cases on Elderly website for $99 but the shipping of $255 killed the deal. I contacted ...

Alan I was just discussing this with Allan H here in Townsville and he said "why don't you look on the forum". Brilliant in its simplicity.
thanks

Re: A pair just finished
thanks for the positive comments. I actually didn't think to put many photos up but I will on the weekend once I find the camera. These were on the iPhoneI got the Goncalo Alves on line from the US 'cause it has that unique colour. Bought it when I first caught the bug and colour was as good a reaso...

A pair just finished
Just finished two guitars. First one is Lutz Spruce, Goncalo Alves B&S, QLD maple neck, rosewood fretboard and bridge. Body size is modeled on a Tanglewood TW45 body size, (think mini jumbo/folk). I started out to make a baritone but when I was measuring up to fit the neck realised the bridge plate ...

Re: Guitar cases for smaller/parlour guitars
Bob which case are you getting from Cedar Creek? I emailed Artist and they were non comittal. I have also found a TKL case at Elderly that is about $220 landed (the case is only $90).

Elderly Instruments (http://www.elderly.com/departments/strings) have very keen prices on strings though they can't ship Elixer for some reason.

Re: Bunya/ Sassafras Parlor
Thanks all for your kind words. I think the extra fret (13 to the body) makes the body look longer and now that you have pointed it out it does look like one of those older styles. Can I take credit for that accident :?: I used the Scott Antes plan. Only have a hard copy unfortunately. It is availab...

Bunya/ Sassafras Parlor
Hi, here is my first home built. A parlor with Bunya top, Sassafras B&S, QLD Maple neck, Ebony binding (very hard for a newbie to get on - not recommended for a first build), Mulga fretboard and bridge. 24.9 scale, 13 fret. My thanks to Alan the Ozzie Blues man for his support and encouragement. Ont...

Wow thanks for the advice everyone. I had some timber packs arrive yesterday and am keen to get a crack on though I will need to deal with the humidity as I was reading in another post last night. I really appreciate your welcome

Thanks Rod. Not sure what re-sawing sides even means that's how new I am.
