Re: Back brace position
In my last Ukulele build, I tried positioning the back braces on the nodes of the back (the free back plate that is) thinking that these nodes do not vibrate and so would be a good place for a brace. I could not detect any improvement in volume.

Re: Resawing, Bandsaw drift etc
This is what I use for a re-saw fence. A short rounded square. You can adjust the piece if the cut want to drift.

Re: Guitar one frequency
if your current frequency is 50Hz, then the 47 peak is probably some noise from the current. Make sure you do not place your microphone on the same table as your computer or use some foam to isolate it.

Re: Intonation and Flamenco guitars
I am no expert in compensation, but someone (don't remember who) mentioned something which I am still digesting. If you compensate the nut and you put a capo on a fret, the total length of the string is still shorter compared to a non compensated. So the nut compensation will make a difference with ...

Re: Anyone able to have a quick check here???
What I do is tap and record the back. It should confirm if 230 is the right peak for T(1,1)3. The back tap willl be close to the T(1,1)3

Re: Help reading flamenco tap tone data
I have no idea how a Flamenco spectrum should look. But based on your numbers and the back tap, I would say the T(1,1)3 is that little bump around 217 Hz. It look like the back is not contributing much to the top resonance.

Re: Help reading flamenco tap tone data
If you record a tap of the back this will give you an aproximation of where the T(1,1)3 is.

Re: Newbie trying to shift frequencies
I just did that recently on a 000. You need to reduce top stiffness. Your best bet is reducing the X brace height. Here is a spectrum of the original : 000 top.jpg The next chart show how it changed after 1, 2, 3, carving session of the braces. Notice that the air mode did not changed much as this i...

Beautifull instrument, well done, congratulation.
This is a 14 frets to the body. Did you change the scale length or just moove the bridge?

Re: tone
Could be the bridge or the NUT or a bad string.
I would start with the nut. Make sure the string contact point is at the very edge of the front of the nut and not at the back.
